If the metal discs are set up unprotected outdoors, they will rust in a few years. But rust will only be an aesthetics issue, because even with rust they can continue to be a magnetic conduit. Surface rust will not be an issue, but if the rust begins to deteriorate the discs, we suggest replacing them immediately.
